Reed Rahn is a professional photographer of over 29 years whose clients have included celebrities, multibillion dollar corporations, billionaires, politicians, and famous artists. His studio is based in Phoenix, Arizona. Reed is passionate about photographing people. His portrait photography is influenced and inspired by the work of the great Arnold Newman. Reed's skillful direction and empathy allows him to connect and relate to his subjects. He is known for his ability to bring out the best in everyone and as a result, each frame shows his subjects in their best light. Thats why he‚ has been hired to photograph covers for Forbes Magazine, Fortune Magazine, Newsweek Magazine, Time Magazine, Sports Illustrated and USA Weekend. His reputation for excellence is why he has been commissioned for some of the largest corporations in the world, including Bechtel, Hewlett-Packard and IBM, to photograph portraits for their annual reports.
Reeds second photographic passions is food photography inspired by his father, a gourmet chef. Reed recalls his father at the stove top filling the home with what he called aromas of love! Reed has an impeccable eye for artistic food imagery capturing even the aroma of the kitchen. He finds joy in presenting a great chef's labor of love to the world through the medium of photography.
Finally his third favorite subject is architectural and interior design photography which he excel's at through his artistic eye. He owes this ability to his mother, an incredible artist herself in Chicago, who instilled in him an appreciation for the artistry in this field.
Photography captures and connects us to a single moment. To nurture this connection, Reed expresses himself creatively through the practice of Yoga, and Tai chi, which gives him peace in the mind. His Yoga and Nature photography is lauded for its ability to embody this connection to peace and the inner spirit.
Reed's proven record of excellence has brought him many notable clients over the years and the list keeps growing. He has photographed celebrity athletes in Arizona including Steve Nash, Kurt Warner, Jason Kidd, Charles Barkley, Dorothy Hamill, Sammy Sosa, Emerson Fittipaldi, Lyn St. James, Brandel Chamblee, Jeremy Roenick and Matt Williams.
He has also photographed celebrities from the world of entertainment such as Michael Moore, Alice Cooper, James Brolin, Dave Mustaine, Twilight author Stephanie Meyer, Junie B. author Barbara Park, and artists Phillip Curtis, Malcolm Alexander, Beatrice Mandaline, and Howard Terpning.
He has also photographed and crossed paths with many of former President Bill Clinton's advisors, such as Arthur Levitt, who was Chairman of Securities and Exchange Commission and former CEO of the New York Stock Exchange; Robert Rish, who was secretary of Finance; and Bruce Babbit, a former Secretary of the Interior as well as the former Governor of Arizona.
